Our Background - Supplying Accommodation for those with disabilities

Maggie and Imtaz moved to Manor Farm from London in 1998 wanting a simpler life, whilst needing to be near Maggie’s elderly parents in Cumbria where Maggie was born.

Maggie trained as an occupational therapist in Oxford before moving to London working predominantly in long term psychiatry, rehabilitation and resettlement into community care.

Imtaz was born in Guyana, South America but grew up in London and trained as both a psychiatric and general nurse, working in rehabilitation and also residential care settings.

They gave up their careers to become full time carers for two adults with disabilities who lived with them for 18 years as part of their family under a social services adult placement scheme.

Maggie and Imtaz bought Manor Farm to enable them to convert a barn into holiday accommodation for people with disabilities having first hand experience of the difficulties associated with going on holiday.

Additionally in London, they ran a youth club for 6 years and now receive frequent visits from grown up members and their offspring !

Maggie and Imtaz look forward to welcoming you to Manor Farm.
